Shammi Kabab
Ingredients
- 450g Minced Meat
- 1 tablespoon chopped Ginger
- 1 large chopped Onion
- 2 Cloves
- 2 large Cardomons
- 2 Bay Leaves
- 50ml Gram Dal (Channa Dal)
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 2 chopped Green Chillies
- 25mm piece Cinnamon Stick
- ½ teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
- 225g Fat or Ghee or Oil
- Salt to taste
Method
- Mix all the ingredients except the fat and cook until all the juice of the meat dries up (approx. 15 - 20 minutes).
- Remove the bay leaves, cinnamon stick and take the skin off the cardomons.
- Grind the remaining mixture well.
- Shape the ground mixture into thick cakes.
- Fry these cakes in deep fat until golden brown.
- Shammi Kabab is always served with green salad, sliced lemon or chopped onions.
